Job Description As an integral part of the team, you will collaborate with the designers and programmers to execute the overall creative vision of the project.
Ongoing responsibilities include: Making animation for cinematic as well as in-game use, managing deliverables and quality-control for outsourced animation and ensuring the highest possible standards of production.You will be involved in all aspects of the production from the initial design of character movement and technical considerations of implementation to collaboration with other disciplines in planning and creating the final animation. Your goal is to set new standards for animation in games.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the lead animator and designers and directors in creation of the overall artistic vision of the game
  • Animating 3D characters, including working with motion capture data and hand key-framed animations
  • Create animations for in-game and cinematic
  • Creating facial/lip synch animations
  • Communicating with external partners to define animation deliverables
  • Give feedback on and tweak and polish animations delivered by 3rd parties
  • Take part in motion capture sessions
  • Deliver content on schedule and within technical limitations
  • Work with programmers and designers to ensure animations properly fitting technical and game design requirements
  • Work efficiently and effectively within technical setup of animations working with our proprietary engine

Experience:
  • Solid foundation and knowledge in 3D animation techniques and animation principles
  • Understand the timing and appearance of human, animal movement and facial expressions
  • Experienced in Motion Builder and one or more 3D applications (3ds Max, Maya, …)
  • Understanding of rigging and skinning principles
  • Ability to respond elegantly to difficult creative changes, often late in the process
  • Self-motivated towards solving creative problems and meeting production deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English
  • A passion for video games is mandatory

It will be an advantage if you have:
  • Solid experience with motion capture or working with motion capture data
  • Experience in producing AAA title or any other games
  • Experience with database driven animation systems
