Job Title Senior Cinematic Animator - London, UK
Job Category Animator
Job Description You could be joining the family at a legendary and award-winning AAA studio as a Senior Cinematic Animator. You'll need to be ready for the challenge of producing a AAA title on all of the next generation platforms.

There are so many amazing perks to working at this studio! You'll be swimming in all of the 'standard' benefits, such as private medical & dental care, contributory pension scheme, and a generous annual performance bonus scheme. It'll be encouraged that you continue growing in your role, meeting world class speakers as part of your training, as well as having access to multiple online training websites and a library of internal training.

You really will be part of the family, enjoying monthly outings with your team, and film nights in the MoCap theatre. You'll be able to immerse yourself in the brand at the staff only store, whilst enjoying an on-site masseuse, yoga, life drawing, haircuts and gym... not at the same time, obviously!

You won't be spending all of your time relaxing in the gym, you'll spend your days creating and developing industry leading cinematic scenes that support the narrative of the game. You'll work closely with the Cinematic Lead to ensure content and direction is consistent and reaches the highest levels of quality, setting up and developing cinematic scenes and animations from previs to final quality in the game engine (Unreal).

You'll also support the motion capture process from rehearsals to final performance, so if you've also got motion capture acting experience, that's a bonus! You'll aim to be a solid example in your role, for non-Seniors to follow suit.

So, that's the role and the studio! To work there, you'll need to:

  • Have excellent Motion Builder knowledge and experience.
  • Have excellent Motion Capture experience.
  • Be an experienced 3DS max and/or Maya user
  • Have excellent knowledge of editing software (Premiere/After Effects) beneficial.
  • Have a great understanding of the Unreal game engine or similar.
  • Have a great understanding of the cinematic pipeline, in a game environment.

That's all the technical stuff out of the way. You'll also need some more artistic skills such as an excellent understanding of visual story telling skills, and a great understanding of cinematography. This will match up to a strong understanding of staging, scene design and camera layout, and great key frame and motion editing skills.
