Job Description Lead Programmer – BAFTA Winning Studio – Remote Working

A London based Console studio are currently looking to expand on their BAFTA winning success and require a Lead Programmer to work on their new IP. The studio founders come with a great reputation of producing high selling games and would like this trend to continue for their new game.

The role requires this person to work closely with the Directors and manage a small development team of 5 in a 60/40 hands on coding/management environment. You’ll be helping implement core gameplay systems and features in an exciting, fast paced title, ensuring gameplay is fun and goes in line with the studios trademark ‘pick up and play’ mechanics.

This role will offer you a position of influence and close communication with the Co-Founders of the studio, helping contribute to such an important part of the Coding strategy, which includes mentoring, code reviews and team management.

The studio will provide all the developments kits, software licenses and can offer 100% remote working, with some meetings in their Central London office when required, so being based in the UK is a huge plus.  

Requirements
  • At least 4 years’ Programming experience in the games industry
  • Past mentoring or Lead experience
  • Strong experience with Unity
  • Developed multiple disciplines of programming such as gameplay, UI, tools etc
  • Past Console experience would be a bonus
  • Able to work remotely
