Amiqus have partnered with an exciting AAA games development studio based in Guildford who are looking to hire a talented Senior Art Director to join their growing team. The studio has released some of the most compelling story-telling titles in the console market and are looking for someone to push the quality bar and own the art for their new title currently in development.

As the Art Director, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the Studio Head and Executive Producer to define the vision of the title. You will be responsible for managing the Art Direction and implementing processes, which includes managing art teams, recruiting new artists and driving the overall art strategy. You will also have a hand in key decisions on the art quality, mood, storytelling and cinematography. More importantly giving you the creative control to use your own ideas and having a say on the final in-game atmosphere.

Part of your role will be to review the overall progress of every project assigned to you, you will have full vision of all art reviews and will help in aspects such as risk management and recruitment, also ensuring that project milestones are always reached. You will assist in the development of your team through appraisals and will have an input in the creative vision of each title.

The ideal candidate will be a 3D expert in their field, (whether this is environments, characters, assets or other disciplines), and also someone who has worked on multiple AAA standard console games and craves more of a managerial role. This role is remote working initially with a view to work on site when it’s safe to do so. 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the games industry
  • Experience of being a Lead Artist or Art Director
  • Released AAA titles on console platforms
  • A strong character and someone who craves to drive a project from start to finish
  • A portfolio demonstrating your experience
  • Knowledge of Unreal 4 would be a bonus
