A great opportunity for a tool programmer looking to better your career working in a C++ studio working on a diverse range of games types including first-person shooter and racing games based in a state-of-the-art space in the striking Nottingham.

The Role:

As a Senior Programmer you will be responsible for the day to day development of game features across one or many platforms. You will also design and implementation of game systems within a title, potentially mentoring and leading one or two junior programmers to help achieve your goals.

In a typical day you will be required to design, implement and debug features within the tools you are working on, potentially working across multiple games and platforms simultaneously. You know how to use the development tools available to you, including 3rd party libraries and IDEs. You will have excellent social skills enabling you to accurately report progress and issues as the feature progresses, allowing you and your team to manage the progress of the project.

What we need from you:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • Experience from outside the games industry or outstanding demos will be considered.
  • GUI toolkit experience (e.g. WPF, wxWindows, Qt, etc..)
  • Experience using source control systems (e.g. Perforce, CVS, SVN)
  • Knowledge of game content creation pipelines and tools
  • Strong math skills, especially in trigonometry and linear algebra

It would be useful if you have:

  • Good time management and self-motivation skills.
  • The ability to take direction and criticism.
  • Knowledge of games systems (3D graphics, animation, camera control, lighting)
  • Experience authoring plugins for DCC tools (e.g. 3DS Max, Maya)
  • Experience working with and extending Unreal/Unity.
  • Scripting experience (python/perl/etc…)
