Job Description Creative Assembly’s award-winning team behind Alien: Isolation are exploring new frontiers with a brand-new and exciting First-Person Tactical Shooter IP.

This is an opportunity for an experienced UX Designer to make their mark on our new undisclosed IP, contributing to the creation of genre-defining games and working with some of the industry’s top developers.

Key Responsibilities

As an UX Designer, you will collaborate with Game Designers, UI Artists and Developers to translate game systems into intuitive interfaces.

Accepting the intentional friction in the game design, your work will be focused on ensuring the game interface is optimal in terms of accessibility, communication and immersion - by removing all the unintended friction and acting as the player-advocate during the whole development process.

In your role you will own the UX design of the game’s interface, from individual HUD components, visualization of progression systems up to the overall first-time-user-experience.Responsibilities will include:
  • Visualizing interface design in prototypes, mockups and wireframes to communicate and test design concepts
  • Collaborate with User Researchers to plan and facilitate usability testing
  • Interpret and Integrate results from usability testing and live game metrics to iterate the design of all interfaces in the game
  • Producing detailed user flows and design documents, combining feature requirements and customer journeys
Knowledge, Skill and Experience 

Essential
  • Game interface design and in-game UI (e.g. HUD) experience
  • Experience in design and prototyping tools such as Balsamiq, Visio, Photoshop, Axure
  • Excellent knowledge of usability and user centric design principles as well as their basis in cognitive psychology
  • Products delivered on multiple platforms
  • Experience designing e-commerce flows
  • Passion for FPS on all platforms
Desirable
  • Shipped AAA titles as UX Designer
  • Degree in Human-Computer Interaction
  • Good knowledge of interface design patterns and their application
  • Experience with usability testing
  • Knowledge of Accessibility requirements and best practices
  • Knowledge of in-editor scripting (e.g. Blueprints in Unity or Unreal)
