C++ Senior Tools Engineer Animation Studio, Scotland Ref: 2578

We are working with a leading animation studio based in Scotland. Looking for a senior level tools engineer to join their team. This role is offered on-site at their studio and open to people able to work in the UK.  This role can be remote based in the UK.

What will you do?

• Create, extend and maintain tools and follow workflow pipelines
• Work with live services team to come up with solutions to any issues
• Write, optimize, maintain bug-free high-performance code for our large, existing, code base
• You will take responsibility for the full development life-cycle from testing through to implementation
• Mentoring junior members of the tools programming team

What skills do you need?

• Strong C++ including UI
• Bachelor’s or post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
• Version control software e.g. Git
• 3D maths
• Ability to research latest advances in technology in best practice
• 5+ years professional experience working in games or research and development in C++
• Accelerating algorithms particularly using NVIDIA, CUDA … or other GPGPU method
• Familiarity with animation packages including Maya, Max, Houdini, Blender...
• Knowledge of Engines inc. Unreal, Unity, Vulcan...
• Visual Studio a bonus
• Knowledge of of the following libraries/tools: Eigen, FFMPEG, ImGui or OpenCV
• Graphics packages e.g. DirectX, OpenGL, HLSL, GLSL a bonus
• Scripting languages e.g. Python nice to have
• Effective team working, strong comms and working to deadlines
