You can manage your own time and projects effectively while also juggling the scheduling and resources of a small-to-medium sized team.

This role is perfect for someone immersed in the pop culture industry, who’s passionate about people leadership, who can identify great content that will resonate with our audiences, and has demonstrated an ability to define and deliver their vision while keeping in mind logistical and commercial realities while exceeding what our dedicated fans and audiences expect from our ReedPop Comic Con events.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage a team of 4-6 individuals, establishing a strong working relationship to support them achieving both their goals and personal career development.

  • Oversee the execution of a full schedule of content, panels, appearances, feature areas and more, while keeping track of the logistics required and ensuring delivery on budget.

  • Manage any relevant content budgets, which includes everything from speaker fees to travel costs and all content related production expenses.

  • Collaborate with our marketing team on announcements to our fans, while managing comms schedules, obtaining visual assets and securing formal agreements.

  • Proactively build new partnerships with media, studios or agents to secure access to talent, guests and collaborations that support the growth and success of future shows.

  • Use knowledge of the industry to anticipate new areas of interest within popular culture and assess if these create opportunities for future content at our events.

  • Innovate, always thinking of what will authentically appeal to our audience while also delivering on the goals and budgets of our shows.

  • Work in partnership with our events, marketing, talent and sales teams internally, as well as with our external partners and agencies, both domestically and internationally.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Expert knowledge of past, current and potential future areas of interest in popular culture.

  • Track record of delivering any pop culture content successfully in a relevant role.

  • Strong leadership and ability to articulate a vision and develop the structure surrounding said vision to motivate your team to achieve our goals.

  • Previous experience of managing people and ideally operating in a team-leadership setting.

  • Relationship management, customer service, attention to detail, flair and tenacity are vital.

  • Strong capacity for working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams that all have a wide range of skills, expertise and responsibilities.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Have empathetic and positive instincts that care about our teams, exhibitors and fans.

  • Collaborative and resourceful, willing to find creative solutions to achieve your goals.

  • Any knowledge of the pop culture industry itself and relevant business contacts would be a huge positive, either broadly or in certain specialist interest areas.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant training or experience in a similar field. College degree welcome but not needed.

  • Professional knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and any project planning tools.

  • Is moderately funny and prefers not to check luggage at the airport.
