Position: Course Leader - Games 

Location: Access Creative College Birmingham

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £24,766 - £28,014 per annum

About the role: 

We want you to join our team of Course Leaders and Lecturers to help deliver and develop our Games curriculum at our Centre in Birmingham. Working with the centre team, and Pathway Manager for Games, you will take responsibility for the development and delivery of our provision. From planning lessons and assessing student work to coordinating resources and managing student activities to developing industry links and course marketing. Working at the core of the student experience, you will work among experienced, passionate tutors and within a support service provided by our Central Team.

The successful candidate will be focused, hard-working, flexible, and willing to learn, alongside being able to work as a team and have the ability to communicate clearly.

  • A degree in Games Technology or a relevant subject area (essential)

  • A formal teaching qualification at level 4 (CTLLS or equivalent) or above (desirable)

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of working in education (desirable)

  • A demonstrable record of success in previous roles. 

  • Significant successful experience in teaching on the relevant course area

  • Up-to-date knowledge of the subject area, syllabus requirements and appropriate teaching techniques; an awareness of the requirements of awarding bodies.

  • Understanding of 3D Studio Max and Unreal Engine

  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanisms for the identification, assessment and support of learner needs

  • Understanding of equality and diversity within the curriculum, barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these
