Environment Artist

Are you a keen Environment Artist wanting to work on incredible projects? Do you have an interest in robots, vehicles and futuristic environments? Are you ready to take things to a new level?  

Hugecalf Studios are working on a futuristic, stylised car game called Turbo Golf Racing and need talented Environment Artists like YOU to bring their futuristic visions to life!

What you will do:

• Work closely with the Creative Director and other invested creatives to develop concepts for key locations and themes
• With input from the Creative Director and Leads, help to define the unique visual style for the game’s environment
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the game world, its inhabitants, and any limitations set forth by the team
• Create models and materials to be used within the game’s environment
• Build stunning environments in Unity URP
• Work with the technical artist to ensure that appropriate lighting solutions for the environments are used
• Work with the technical artist to ensure that all scenes are appropriately optimised
• Use the Hugecalf’s tools to assist with environment creation
• Follow and execute on briefs given to you by the team
• Actively participate in technical and aesthetic problem-solving discussions
• Complete quality work under established and agreed-upon deadlines
• Assist guiding and mentoring others in areas which you have more experience
• Learn new skills and experience from others within the team

Skills and Requirements:

• Be self-motivated and want to make a big difference in a small team
• Fantastic artistic vision and composition
• Experience working in stylised environments
• Environment concepting
• Environment modelling
• Material creation using Substance Designer, Zbrush and Shader Graph
• Strong in engine skills
• Experience in PBR lighting pipeline
• Highly organised

Bonus Points for any of the following:

• Experience with visual effects
• Render optimisation
• Key art/marketing asset creation
