Game Designer / Assistant Producer – VR Studio – 100% Remote Working

A Manchester based VR Development Studio are currently looking for a Game Designer to work on a range of game modes and mini games for their hugely successful VR platform. They are currently best in class in their field of high-end VR experiences, which allows users to experience realistic scenarios, whether this be educational, physical training or for treatment use.

As the Game Designer in this team, you’ll take up a dual role of outlining new ideas for the platform, such as prototyping, mechanic design, core game design and interactive narration for the users – you must also bring fun to the experience! You will then own these features and designs and be able to manage deadlines and milestones, advising the best course of action with each project hurdle.

This role will promote freedom in your work style and will allow you to be creative with your design – the design is at the heart of all their experiences so it’s important to understand the overall experience of playing the game, rather than focusing solely on the mechanics.

If you enjoy working on Technology that is game changing and immersive, then we would be interested in hearing from you. The Technology has also caught the attention of several high-profile sports stars.

This role can be either 100% remote working (indefinitely), or a split/hybrid work pattern. You must be based in the UK already to be eligible for the 100% remote working option.

Requirements

  • At least 1 years’ experience as a Game Designer or an Assistant Producer in the video games or VR industry
  • A great knowledge of games and an excellent understanding of what makes them work
  • Experienced with Photoshop and InDesign
  • Delivered 1 full product on either mobile, PC, Console or VR platforms
  • Experience with writing clear and concise specs and feature documentation
  • Comfortable with presenting to Pro-Sports teams, helping shape the experience
  • Good project planning and task management skills
  • Exceptional communicator

In addition to a great work life balance, the studio can offer perks such as an amazing pension, Cycle to work schemes and a generous holiday package which includes studio closures over Christmas.
