Game Designer – New Games Project – Liverpool

A VR Studio based in Liverpool are currently looking for a Game Designer to work on a range of new titles on mobile and VR platforms. The studio is currently working on a range of new projects and need this Designer to come up with new ideas, concepts and mechanics for these games. The studio was formed by veterans from the video games industry, who have come from a long-standing AAA console development background. 

As the Game Designer, you will be outlining new ideas for the title, such as prototyping, mechanic design, core game design and interactive narration for the users – you must also bring FUN to the games! You will be up to date with present game trends and enjoy playing and making games. The ideal candidate will understand the games market and have good knowledge of analysing in-game metrics and tweaking gameplay/levels as needed. You will work closely with the current Creative Director, in developing the overall game design and inject vast story-telling narrative for these projects.

This role will promote freedom in your work style and will allow you to be creative with your design in an open-plan environment, where ideas are commonly contributed, and everyone has an input on the project.

This role offers a hybrid model of your choosing, with at least 1 day a week in-house for catch ups and important meetings. There is a competitive salary on offer, including exclusive studio benefits, relocation assistance, pension and a generous holiday allowance (28 days + Bank holidays).


  • At least 1 years’ experience as a Designer in the Games industry
  • Experience of prototyping, mechanic design and core game design 
  • Worked on either console/PC or mobile games (mobile preferred)
  • Experience of writing clear and concise specs and feature documentation
