Game Designer – New VR Project – Remote Working

Game Designer – New VR Project – Remote Working

Amiqus have partnered with an exciting studio based in the South East, who are looking to hire a Game Designer to join their growing team. The studio has helped release some of the best indie games on the VR market and this position will offer you the chance to work on a brand-new project still very early in development. The studio was formed by veterans from the video games industry, who have come from a long-standing AAA console development background.

As the Game Designer, you will be outlining new ideas for the title, such as prototyping, creating GDD’s, mechanic design, core game design and interactive narration for the users – you must also bring FUN to the games! You will be up to date with present game trends and enjoy playing and making games. You will work closely with the current Creative Director, in developing the overall game design and inject vast story-telling narrative for this project.

This role will promote freedom in your work style and will allow you to be creative with your design – the design is at the heart of all their games so it’s important to understand the overall experience of playing the game, rather than focusing solely on the mechanics.

There is a competitive salary on offer, including exclusive studio benefits, relocation assistance, pension, personal development plans, regular social events, paid equipment, and a generous holiday allowance.

This role can be either 100% remote working (indefinitely) or a split/hybrid work pattern. You must be based in the UK already to be eligible for the 100% remote working option.

  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Designer in the Games industry
  • Experience of prototyping, mechanic design and core game design
  • Worked on either Console/PC or VR Games
  • Experience of writing clear and concise specs and feature documentation
