Games Design Course Leader

Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £23,548-£28,014 per annum  (subject to qualifications and experience)

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic individual with specialist skills to deliver on and develop our Games courses in Bristol. Working within Further Education our prime focus is to nurture talent, desire, and determination. We’re looking for someone who is passionate enough to want to share their knowledge and experience with active and hungry young minds to develop the next generation of games industry professionals and gamers.

What is the role?

Working with the Centre team and Pathway Manager for Games, you will take responsibility for the teaching, development and delivery of our provision, from coordinating resources and managing student activities, teaching and assessment, to developing industry links and course marketing, working at the core of the student experience and leading on commercial course delivery. You will work with experienced, passionate tutors as well as within a support service provided by our Central Team. Working at Access Creative College means working with learners who are engaged, enthusiastic and passionate about the education they are gaining.  

Do you want to play a part in changing the tech industry for the better? We have recently launched an innovative and exciting collaboration with Condense Reality.  Condense is on a mission to go deeper and bring the world’s live events to the metaverse, and so are we. Their technology enables musicians to live stream events in real-time as 3D video, delivering completely new engaging experiences to people playing online and console games. The metaverse is about to get real and we are collaborating in the development of an intensive programme for young creatives in Bristol focusing on the advancements of live-streaming events in the metaverse and aimed at bringing further diversity to the tech workforce.  We are looking for a passionate individual, driven by the idea of creating opportunities for young people who can help drive forward this delivery. 

Industry-specific experience, skills, and knowledge required. 

  • 3D modelling expertise, knowledge of modelling, UV unwrapping, texturing, lighting and rendering.
  • 3D animation knowledge, industry-standard pipeline and kinematics in relevant software (Blender, Maya, Unreal, 3Ds Max)

  • Theoretical knowledge across the broad spectrum of games, for example, Job roles and skills, narrative design and development, story progression

  • Understanding of commercial courses delivered for full cost

  • Our PCs are high performing and equipped to ensure all our learners have access to rendering software through our exciting partnerships with Pixar’s RenderMan.  

  • For unqualified teaching applicants, we can offer you financial and social support to complete a teacher training course that provides an alternative career path within the Games Industry.
