Design Manager – PC/Console studio – Remote working
Amiqus have partnered with an exciting Games Studio based in Germany who are known for setting the quality bar on console and PC titles.
They are currently going through a period of expansion and require a Lead Game Designer to work on their hugely successful, award winning PC title, whilst leading/mentoring a small team in the process.
As the Lead Game Designer, you will be outlining new ideas for the title, such as prototyping, mechanic design, systems, core game design, progression and interactive narration for the users – you must also bring fun to the title! You will be up to date with present PC trends and enjoy playing and making games. The ideal candidate will understand the console/PC market and have good knowledge of what works and what doesn’t.
You will work closely with the Game Director. Your remit will be broad but focusing on defining and refining the core gameplay experiences, the key beats of the story and the use of mechanics to accomplish them.
This role will promote freedom in your work style and will allow you to be creative with your design – the design is at the heart of all their games so it’s important to understand the overall experience of playing the game, rather than focusing solely on the mechanics. If you enjoy working with cutting edge Tech, then we’ll want to hear from you.
As a key member of the team you will also get involved with core design principles and be able to implement new ideas on a large-scale project. This role is remote working initially with a view to work on site when it’s safe to do so.
Requirements
- At least 4 years’ experience in a Game Design position
- Past mentoring or lead experience

- High energy and a passionate designer
- A great knowledge of games and an excellent understanding of what makes them work
The studio can offer perks such as flexible core hours, subsidised gym memberships, free German lessons, contribution to childcare costs, free food, pension and covered relocation costs (includes legal advice). If you are interested in hearing more, please send your CV to will.hudson@amiqus.com
