Senior Game Designer - AAA - 4 day working week
We are looking for talented Level Designers to start a new adventure and join the team in Malta!
Graewolv is an independent game developer founded by industry veterans, made up of experienced, devoted professionals hell-bent on creating great games and entertainment. If you’re a passionate, self-starting level designer, an Unreal whiz, and someone obsessive about immersive sims, tactical shooters, and horror games, then we want to hear from you!
You need to be very confident around Unreal Engine and have strong skills in Blueprints and creating great level white boxes. As a permanent position, this position will start remotely, but will be based in our studio in Malta.
Responsibilities:
- Use your creative and technical skills to bring high-level game design ideas to life in a Multiplayer title.
- Develop design documents, prototyping, iterating, testing, and problem solving.
- Implement gameplay systems and features consistent with project goals & tenets.
- Communicate and coordinate between departments to ensure the vision is clearly understood.
- Validate your gameplay hypotheses through rapid prototyping and team feedback.
Required:
- Competent using Unreal to create level layouts and experienced in various Unreal tools – you are a whiz with blueprints and love to create exciting gameplay spaces to explore!
- The ability to balance and adjust levels and gameplay content.
- A solid understanding of gameplay, flow, and challenge/difficulty tuning.
- Experience working with a game engine, specifically Unreal 4/5, using scripting tools to orchestrate events, and implementing 3D work into the pipeline.
- Experience in rapid prototyping to test feasibility of concepts.
- Strong understanding of level editing packages such as Maya, UDK, or other proprietary tools.
- Solution-oriented positive attitude and passion about the play experience, with a wealth of knowledge across a wide range of games.
Desirable:
- 4+ years of professional experience as a level designer for shipped AAA games
- Experience with Immersive sims and tactical shooters.
- A passion for making games driven by gameplay and systems.
- The desire and knowledge to push for quality and always bring your A game.
