Narrative Designer / Writer – Mobile Studio – 100% Remote

A London based Games studio are currently looking for a Narrative Designer / Writer to work on a range of new titles on mobile platforms. The studio is currently working on a range of sequels to their hit, BAFTA nominated debut title and require this person to work closely with the Co-Founders, Lead Designer and Content / Narrative Teams, in developing plot lines and episodes which are really going to draw players in. You’ll be working on the content strategies for the studio and inject deep story-telling narrative for these projects.

As the Narrative Designer you will be working across a variety of genres from Crime, Horror, Romance, Politics, Sci-fi and Comedy, so having an interest in some of these will be an advantage! Ideally you will have played narrative driven games or have an interest in these genres. You will be designing episodes with multiple endings, branching dialogue and scripted video/audio sequences.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a range of stories with open endings and multiple choices for the player, given you the opportunity to explore different stories. You’ll also get the chance to pitch in your own ideas to the team too!

The studio is working on a range of new titles, which are themed and based on popular series and dramas. This role will promote freedom in your work style and will allow you to be creative with your design in an open-plan environment, where ideas are commonly contributed, and everyone has an input on the project.

This role can be either 100% remote working (indefinitely), or a hybrid model if you prefer some days onsite.

You must be based in the UK already to be eligible for the 100% remote working option.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Narrative Designer / Writer
  • Experience in the video games industry or Film/TV
  • A good focus on character writing, lore, scenes and dialogue
  • Good writing examples of Episodes, Stories in the form of a portfolio
  • An interest in TV Crime Dramas or Horror Movies would be a bonus
  • A bigger bonus if you’ve worked with directing voice actors before
  • Video editing skills would also be a massive bonus
