Network Programmer

We're working with a small, but perfectly formed, Mobile Games studio in Leamington Spa. They were originally set up in 2012 by a group of experience developers and artists and they've shipped two really successful mobile games, and are working on a third. They're now looking to grow the studio to not only support live-ops on their live games but the development of new titles.

This is a Network Programming position, so you can expect to be working ona variety of real-time networking technologies, you'd be creating, debugging and optimising networked games - specifically focusing on things like lag compensation, client prediction and working with data sent over UDP. Their games are 'Games as a service' always online so this role is completely key to the studio. You'd be working alongside the Technical Director (one of the founders) and the other members of the code team. They make their games in their own propriety engine built in C++.

To be considered, we'd love to see:

  • Expert programming skills in C++/Objective C/C#
  • Strong maths skills
  • Worked on at least 1 shipped real-time multiplayer game
  • Experience of a variety of real-time networking technologies.
  • Recent experience in Mobile Game development
  • Undeniably passionate about games

This is a brilliant role with a studio that prides itself on making great games in a mature, authentic and supportive environment. They have one of the best retention rates of any studio I work with. You'll be offered a competitive salary along with a good benefits package.

This role can be fully remote -but you must be based in the UK.
