QA Engineer - Contraband (AAA)

At Avalanche Studios Group, we are looking for a QA Engineer to join our team to work on our upcoming AAA title Contraband - a co-op smuggler’s paradise game set in the fictional world of 1970s Bayan. Contraband is a brand-new IP published by Xbox Game Studios. Avalanche Studios is the division dedicated to ambitious, externally published, AAA open-world games like the Just Cause series, Mad Max and Rage 2.
As a QA Engineer you'll be working closely with many different people within the different development disciplines. The ability to help scope game features, analyze & solve problems, create test plans, execute daily testing, and communicate clearly is required.
Your main tasks will be to perform functional and qualitative testing of gameplay mechanics and work-in-progress features, as well as write and execute test cases. It will be your responsibility to report all issues in a bug tracking tool, and you will be expected to have the knowledge and ability to write bugs to a high standard. You are proactive and can constructively communicate concerns, and work within deadlines. Actively promoting testing, build reliability & content quality within development is key.
Required Qualifications- Solid professional QA experience in the gaming industry (PC & Console)- Experience from working as embedded QA within a development team.- Excellent English (written and verbal), ability to describe complex information in a precise and detailed manner.- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.- Knowledge of bug writing and bug tracking software.- Experience with testing tools and live product(s) with a frequent release cycle.- Proactive and solution-driven approach to problem-solving
Desired Qualifications- Education in fields related to games or/and testing/analysis/problem solving- Experience working with game engines- Experience with debugging software and software crash outputs- Experience working with version control systems- Knowledge of current and next-gen technologies- Understanding of the development life cycle throughout- Proactive, confident in time allocating, planning and solution driven- Experience in working closely with production and various disciplines to plan and schedule testing around various requirements
