QA Lead – REMOTE or Toronto, Canada – AAA Games Studio

OPMs client has made a name in creating multiplayer melee combat games. They are looking for a talented, team-oriented QA Lead to help them make a sequel to their multi-million copy selling original and to support on future titles too.

As a QA Lead you’ll oversee the quality testing of their projects and the QA department. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing high-level direction, supporting a team of testers, and getting their hands dirty with day-to-day work. Leads at our studio have a big influence on the decisions not just within their department but across the whole game and we’re looking for someone who wants to take a major part in the future of our games and studio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help create and drive the QA vision of the company
• Propose solutions to improve the testing of projects in the studio
• Collaborate with all departments on the team to ensure their work can be tested efficiently
• Own and drive the testing process and any tools involved (Jira, confluence, TestRail etc)
• Help with recruitment, on-boarding, development and professional training of the quality assurance team
• Maintain regular internal communications and encourage a positive and ambitious team atmosphere
• Demonstrate good leadership, enthusiasm and sense of commitment
• Build feature test plans in partnership with development and QA subject matter experts
• Help oversee the development and execution of test cases
• Manage the test team’s day to day activities and quality of work

REQUIREMENTS:

• An established career full with QA experience
• Previous experience as a QA Lead on a shipped game
• A strong and efficient communicator with excellent management skills
• Experience testing AAA titles on multiple platforms
• High degree of self-motivation and initiative-taking

BENEFICIAL:

• Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or other equivalent engines
• Previous experience in small/medium sized development studios
• A professional know how with multiplayer/network/performance/Compliance testing
• Good knowledge of using metrics to guide testing
• Professional experience in beta testing or patch testing with live games
