*REMOTE WORKING* Tools Programmer – PC/Console Games

OPM are close partners with one of the UK’s most recognisable studios.

 

The developer is looking for a talented programmer with a passion for tools creation who can join and support one of their teams working on a key IP.

 

As a Tools Programmer you will be an integral member of the team that is currently working on an unannounced title that will push the boundaries on what is possible within the genre.

 

You will develop and support a wide variety of tools to make life easier for the team.

 

Working closely with other Programmers, Designers, Artists, Engineers, QA and Production, you will work and learn alongside some of the best industry talent and if you're looking to work within an inclusive environment, that promotes time for self-development and career progression, then look no further.

 

If you have a solid understanding of C++ and a basic knowledge of C# or other similar scripting languages, then they would love to hear from you! 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Develop and maintain bespoke content creation tools and pipelines to the highest standards

Research new technology, techniques and ideas

Support a large team of content creators and developers using the tools

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

A solid understanding of C++ ideally within a tools development environment

A desire to make tools.

Experience of asset pipeline design and implementation.

Experience writing standalone tools for data conversion or batch processing

A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as games, computer science, maths or engineering.

Experience using version control software, P4, Plastic Git Hub etc.

Ability to write clear and maintainable code

It will be great if you have:

Experience of C# & scripting languages (Python, Perl, Powershell)

Knowledge of GUI Toolkits e.g. WPF, Qt, WxWidgets)

Experience of development on console and PC platforms

Scripting language experience

Strong 3D maths skills
