Senior Creature Animator – Remote Start – Permanent – Action, Adventure Game

Our client is and I are seeking an experienced Senior Creature Animator to join their talented and passionate team working on an exciting unannounced first-person action and adventure game where creatures play a major role.

You will be working alongside gameplay and animation programmers while assisting in mentoring junior animators in the team too.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Animal and creature animation experience on a shipped game or film
• Ideally, you will have worked on a AA/AAA video game or have the passion to
• Experience with scripting and rigging is a bonus
• Ability to plan and deliver features on-spec and within an agreed time frame
• Experience working with remote teams
• Experience and interest in mentoring junior animators
• Maya expertise
• Unreal Engine experience is desirable

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working on a range of bipedal / quadruped creatures to a high standard of realism
• Learning Unreal Engine’s animation capabilities, and animation state machines
• Setting hero animation standards for the project
• Providing expertise and feedback to junior animators
• Engaging in technical design discussions, and production pipeline considerations with the technical teams
• Collaborating with the design and art teams to deliver functional animation systems that meet the creative vision
• Working on isolated game prototypes, and proving out ideas or animation techniques
