Senior/Lead Programmer – New Console title – 100% Remote Working

We have partnered with an exciting video games studio based in Liverpool, who require a Lead Programmer to work on a new open world title on PC and Console platforms. The studio has built a fantastic reputation and are known for their high-quality output, close relationship building with their partnered studios and a debut title which gained highly rated reviews.

Founded by established industry experts, the team are made up of award-winning developers who have come from AAA backgrounds and have a history of releasing a range of high-quality games, some of which have been adored in the games industry.

They are looking for this individual to have high energy and passion for video games and constantly come up with new and innovative ideas to keep their player base engaged. Your core function will be to implement features to go into the games, such as easy to use mechanics and slick gameplay, while mentoring/managing a small team of 3.  

The studio has a long-standing history in creating some of the best games on the market on console platforms. This role will have you working closely with the management team and will get involved with various aspects of development, which includes liaising with other department leads and mentoring, motivating and leading your own team.

This role can be fully remote working (you must be in the UK already) or hybrid working, if you prefer some days onsite.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Senior or Lead Programmer, with past mentoring/lead experience
  • Good C++ knowledge
  • Unreal Engine experience would be a bonus, however experience with in-house engines or Unity is also ok!
  • Worked on a title from start to finish
  • Good communication skills
