Technical Artist (Animation) – REMOTE or Scotland – AAA Open World Game

Our client is looking for a Technical Artist who understands animation production and has a genuine interest in spearheading the creation of the tools and pipeline for the animation teams.

You will be working alongside a talented art team driving forwards cutting-edge visuals, providing technical guidance and defining art workflow and pipelines.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a Technical Artist / Animation role.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Motion Builder and Maya.
  • Strong Python / Mel programming/scripting experience.
  • Knowledge of building human, facial, vehicles and prop rigging.
  • Knowledge of cloth simulation software such as nCloth.
  • Understanding of 3D math functions.
  • Experience in game development working with the animation team.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Develop tools and technical support for the animation teams.
  • Recognise pipeline issues and present solutions.
  • Develop tools and scripts for third party software.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Work along side Lead Animators, Cinematic Directors and programming teams to bridge needs and requirements.
