Technical Artist – New Open World Title (Unreal 5) – Remote working
A South-East based Games studio are currently looking to expand their art team, who are aiming to create the best-in-class experiences that last forever in players memories, with a new AAA quality, open world title. The studio is looking for a Technical Artist to collaborate with the Art Director, to help with bridging the gap between artists and engineers, ensuring an efficient art pipeline, create tools for various teams and help optimise the game.
As the Technical Artist, you will work closely with the Art Director in defining the vision to the title. The ideal candidate will have a 50/50 split with code and art skills and help with pipeline issues and generate tools that will help streamline processes, also helping with aspects like materials and shaders.
This role will offer you the chance to work with people on a day-to-day basis who bring a collective portfolio of high-selling games. The studio is around 25 people and the title early in development, giving you the opportunity to make an impact early on. You will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and wear multiple hats, if you are a tools/pipeline/hardware/graphics specialist or a generalist, there will be an opportunity to develop your disciplines and skills.

This role is 100% Remote and open to candidates based in the UK (preferred) or EU Countries with a 2-hour max time difference to the UK.

Requirements
- At least 4 years’ experience in the games industry
- Past Console or PC game development experience
- An awareness of performance for a high-end AAA title
- Experience with open world games would be a bonus
- Experience with Houdini would be a bonus
- Either Unreal 4 or Unreal 5 Experience is a must have
