Technical Artist – VR and Games Studio – North East

A North East based Games studio are currently looking for a Technical Artist to work on a range of new titles on Console and VR Platforms, some of which are based on huge box-office IP’s. The studio is renowned in the Console/VR industry for creating high end games and have continually set the bar in the market on both single and multiplayer titles.

As the Technical Artist you will collaborate with the current Art Director to help with bridging the gap between artists and engineers, ensuring an efficient art pipeline and optimised game. Also help develop tools to help streamline their development processes. 

The role will complement someone looking for creative freedom and a chance to leave their thumbprint on a brand-new game, overseeing features from concept to completion.

This role can be either 100% remote working (indefinitely) or partially remote to begin with, with a view to work in a split/hybrid work pattern with a mixture of onsite and remote days (if you prefer a hybrid model). You must be based in the UK already to be eligible for the 100% remote working option.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Technical Artist in the games industry on mobile, PC or console games
  • Strong Unity 3D experience and a good technical understanding of its features
  • Good knowledge of one scripting language – Python, C# or Maxscript preferred
  • 3DS Max or Maya experience
  • A good working online portfolio showing your skills
