Video Lead

It’s an exciting time to join the team here at Media Molecule as we continue to push the boundaries of creative gaming! We are now looking for a talented Video Lead to join the team. This is a newly created role where you will lead, motivate and develop a team of three video producers and editors and be responsible for creating diverse, innovative and engaging video content for the studio! There's huge scope for impact and key tasks will include; 


  • Team Management
    • Lead and motivate a team of video producers and editors, supporting their professional development through performance management, constructive feedback and coaching.
    • Build a positive and collaborative working culture within the team.
    • Innovative and Creative, you will welcome diverse ideas and ways of working 
  • Partner closely with the production team, ensuring content is delivered within agreed timelines, budget, quality and scope.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and key stakeholders to produce creative video content, in line with Mm’s core values.
  • Overall accountability for Media Molecule’s video assets, including internal communication content, social media campaigns, website content, game trailers, teasers, educational and learning tools and live streaming
  • Work collaboratively to establish Mm's visual style and benchmarks, ensuring the video team deliver on this through guidance, documentation and feedback.
  • You will thrive being part of a fast paced and dynamic team that consistently delivers to the highest standards.


  • Management
    • Experience in a similar Lead video editing role, ideally gained within a marketing / entertainment / video game environment.
    • Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate a small team.
  • Creative / Technical experience
    • A strong creative eye with demonstrable track record of delivering original and compelling video assets across multiple platforms, with an ability to balance the differing needs of stakeholders
    • Expert knowledge in Adobe Premiere and After Effects with strong knowledge of the supporting Adobe suite.
    • Solid experience in the creation of motion graphics as part of a full video package
    • Full understanding and technical knowledge of formats, encoding and transcoding to ensure the best quality for every video.
    • Demonstrate excellent skills and practices with audio in video production.
    • Occasional sourcing sound effects, music and video assets.
    • Solid experience in camerawork, lighting, audio capture and colour grading.
    • Expert knowledge of video platforms including YouTube and Twitch, and social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
    • Experience in film directing is a huge plus. 
    • Experience in directing a video from concept and pitch stages to all the stages of the development from storyboards to  animatics to to final editing stages, and presenting them to the clients.  
    • Experience in storytelling and emotional impact of the videos 
    • Being fluent in content creation, the timeline tools and video editing features within dreams is a huge bonus and hugely empowering for the role. 
  • Soft skills
    • A demonstrable love of video games.
    • A high level of motivation and proactivity, with the ability to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement and have the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
    • Enjoy working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative team environment, juggling multiple projects against tight deadlines.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
    • Ability to own and make decisions with incomplete information.
    • Having strong presentation and communication skills , striking  the right balance between talking feedback while defending the vision.
