Job Description Our client creates award-winning video games from their independent studio in Nova Scotia, Canada. Since launching in 2000, they’ve shipped 49 titles that have sold over 27 million units, and also contributed to 19 other titles. They are a team of developers, creators and fans who are passionate about the art and process involved in video game development. Across consoles, mobile devices and genres, they have a diverse team that has had hands-on experience in the creation and development of today’s biggest gaming titles and franchises.

They are now looking for a Software Engineer to join their team, to work closely with fellow Software Engineers and members of other disciplines on the project team. You will report to the Technical Lead and alert them of any issues that could disrupt agreed-upon schedules. You will implement code and script to the required coding standards and ensure that components are designed and reviewed prior to implementation.

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Practical experience programming in C++
  • Must have Unity and C# knowledge
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and willingness to take initiative
  • Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication
  • Fundamental math skills (matrices, vectors, algebra, etc)
  • Computer Science (or similar) Graduate, and two years of relevant experience

Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Experience with a variety of programming languages (C#, Lua, JavaScript, SQL)
  • Interest in specific game programming disciplines (i.e. artificial intelligence, rendering, user interface, audio, etc.)
  • Multiplatform programming experience
  • Experience with 3D graphics programming (Shaders, DirectX, OpenGL)
  • Advanced knowledge in math and physics
  • Worked on and shipped AAA titles
