Job Description This vacancy may offer a work-from-home start until it’s safe to work in-house or relocate to the location.

OPM are working with an established studio located in Warsaw, Poland, who are seeking talented and passionate system designer with experience in TTP / shooters / cover shooter games. Designer with a good sense of game balance, resource management and ability to share his ideas and design insight to the team. The ideal candidate should have proven experience designing game systems and balancing.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong analytical and formal thinking, able to break problems down in their key variables and identify the relations between them;
  • Statistic knowledge, able to formulate ratios and indexes specific to each game, identifying specific weaknesses and strengths in its design;
  • Strong econometrics skills, able to model problems into quantitative systems, and draw qualitative conclusions out of quantitative data;
  • Exceptional ability to conceptualize, pitch, and implement game systems and features using various tools, technology, and visual language
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and align design vision with internal partners and the target audience
  • Clear understanding of creative and game development processes
  • Extraordinary work ethic, self-motivation and initiative
  • English and/or Polish language skills (everyone in our studio speaks English, but Polish language skills are a plus)


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define game balance and create game balancing systems
  • Build simulations and spreadsheets to evaluate their effectiveness / impact
  • Define the metrics which allow balancing and tuning game
  • Constantly test theories, iterate on ideas and challenge assumptions
  • Create designs documents, content briefs, system outlines, and other means of sharing all the necessary information with involved teams
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines, ensuring the correct partners are involved and informed throughout the development process
  • Remain current on industry trends, including new game genres, new game design methods and techniques, and trending audio visual excellence


DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience shipping AAA TTP / shooters /cover shooters titles in economy/balance or systems design roles
  • Shipped titles with a history of successful features
  • A familiarity with scripting languages and a strong foundation in math
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4
  • Extensive experience with online action games
  • Deep understanding of systems design, player psychology, and emerging industry trends
