POSITION OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, dynamic and proactive Assistant Management Accountant actively pursuing study of ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualifications. We are looking for someone committed, with strong communication skills and high attention to detail and in return we will offer flexible working hours, leading benefits and support with professional qualifications (if necessary).  This general ledger role is a real opportunity to gain significant exposure and experience of the whole P&L and work with new and expanding parts of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Management Accounts

  • Responsible for reviewing Selling, General & Administration expenditure (SG&A) by department/ studio against ‘business plan’, identifying variances with explanation
  • Prepare and present variance analysis commentaries to the wider senior finance team
  • Maintain accruals schedule and reconcile monthly to accounts system
  • Maintain prepayments schedule and reconcile monthly to accounts system
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of the Fixed Asset Register on a monthly basis
  • Preparation, posting and filing of monthly journal files along with supporting backup documentation
  • Assisting the Management Accountant/ Finance Manager in preparing the month-end management pack


Intercompany transactions

  • Responsibility for reporting By-Title actuals to Head Office in Japan SEGA Games Co. Ltd (SGC)
  • Detailed calculation of monthly overhead recharges to SGC in accordance with various accounting policies


Forecasting and Other Duties

  • Responsible for forecasting of the SG&A by department
  • Assisting with preparing the annual SG&A budget
  • Accounting for Royalties payable to and receivable by SEGA Europe Ltd, including submission of reports to 3rd Parties
  • Ad hoc tasks assigned by the Management Accountant
