Job Description The Cycle’ is an innovative multiplayer F2P FPS set in a futuristic Space Cowboy universe where Prospectors strive for fame and fortune via matches that offer a tense and uncertain gameplay. 

As a Senior Hard Surface Artist, you are someone who loves modelling everything hard surface (vehicles, weapons, sci-fi architecture etc.) and cares deeply about functionality.

Your primary duties, under the direction of the art director and lead artist, are in 3D modelling, texturing, and world-building. In collaboration with technical artists and production, you will assure that assets are beautiful as well as technically feasible while fitting into timeframe budgets.

Responsibilities
  • Creating hard surface assets from detailed concepts or rough sketches, producing mechanically sound results, built to empower animators to push the animation quality to the next level
  • Studying, implementing and advancing the quality and art direction of the project with your work, whether it be realistic or stylized
  • Collaborating with your team and the lead artist to maintain and push the modelling, texturing, and material creation standards, making it easy to produce consistently high-quality results
  • Mentoring junior team members, reviewing their work and helping them achieve their best
  • Working with outsourcing partners to support the overall production volume


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in professional game development
  • Excellent modelling and texturing skills, particularly the ability to leverage modelling or texturing optimization techniques to achieve excellent visual quality as well as excellent technical quality
  • Proficiency in node-based shader creation, enabling you to adapt and expand material features
  • Expert knowledge of at least one content creation tool for modelling (eg. 3ds Max, Blender, Modo, etc.) and texturing (eg. Substance, Photoshop etc.)
  • Strong understanding of scale, proportion, surface properties and articulation
  • Ability to take and apply direction and work well in an interdisciplinary team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Passion for videogames


Desirable skills
  • Experience designing weapons, vehicles or similar
  • Experience with the rigging and animation pipeline for hard surface assets
  • Advanced experience working with Unreal Engine 4
  • Understanding of modern real-time rendering pipelines
  • Having shipped multiple games in a similar role
