We are now seeking an Art Director to be a part of our project moving from the prototyping phase into pre-production. What you'll do
- Responsible for defining and executing the Visual Style and Tone, and setting the visual quality bar that is perfect for a game’s unique needs.
- You will develop and lead the Art Team with clarity of vision, guiding them and providing constructive feedback across multiple different art specialisations.
- To carry forth the artistic vision of the game from prototyping into execution, launch, and beyond.
- While the visual quality of the game is your priority, your long term goal is to make an excellent game experience.
- Utilise your knowledge of gaming field trends, as well as gaming design requirements and limitations
Who you are
- Experience having shipped a AA or AAA game working as a mentor, manager and/or Art Director
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including artistic feedback
- Excellent skills in Maya, Photoshop, Z-brush or equivalent
- Strong understanding of colour, composition, and visual storytelling
- Ability to provide visual and written briefs for artists
- Ability to work with and support outsourcing partners
- Broad range of experience or knowledge on a wide range of art specialisms and styles
- Ability to create a range of high and low poly objects such as props, buildings and organic objects(rocks, trees, etc)
- Experience with Unreal
- A good understanding of rendering technology including lighting, VFX/particle systems, renders passes, grading and post FX
- Understand game design practice particularly mission and levels, game experience and an active player
- Knowledge and understanding of anatomy - with an eye for accurate proportions, form, and details
- Knowledge and understanding of various natural and urban landscapes - with an eye for accurate proportions, form, composition, and details.

The Stockholm location
Our Stockholm office is situated in Södermalm, the beating heart of the city’s game industry. It’s a physical representation of our games – the lush vegetation of Just Cause and theHunter: Call of the Wild meets corroded metal straight out of Mad Max. Our hybrid model requires you to be in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays to foster collaboration and creativity.
