Senior Business Development Manager - Game Publishing Industry

About the Role:
Our client, a leader in Video Games Publishing, is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in driving business expansion and fostering valuable partnerships. As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will work closely with the VP of Business Development to cultivate senior-level relationships with partners, 1st party publishing platforms, and explore 3rd party publishing opportunities. While our client prefers to remain discreet, they are a dynamic player in the industry with a track record of success.
- Leverage your extensive industry knowledge and strategic thinking to identify and develop business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to craft proposals and negotiate favorable deal terms with external partners, amplifying opportunities for our publishing portfolio.
- Identify key market opportunities through network relationships and strategic planning.
- Maintain a calendar of industry events, actively participating in keynote presentations, round tables, and panels.
- Serve as an ambassador for our client through event attendance, speaking engagements, and studio visits to enhance the publisher's profile and reputation.
3rd Party Publishing:
- Identify and engage new publishing prospects through inbound and outbound efforts.
- Implement content gatekeeping strategies to streamline the review process and minimize content overload.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of potential opportunities, optimizing processes and playtest schedules through proactive discussions with studios.
- Conduct product playtests and facilitate feedback processes with studios and agencies.
- Utilize your experience to address key challenges and lead internal discussions to find innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance and legal counsel, to negotiate favorable 3rd party publishing deals and drive engagement from initial contact to contract signature.
- Proven experience in contract negotiations, deal frameworks, and IP/product licensing.
- Strong industry network and existing relationships with key players.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
