MELON is looking for a talented and motivated creative director to lead our company's creative department. The successful candidate must possess excellent leadership qualities, with the ability to maximize the talents of our team.
As the creative director, you will work closely with designers, marketing, and engineering to deliver engaging content that meets the expectations of our players. You should be highly creative, dedicated, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Define, communicate and be accountable for the creative vision of MELON’s Roblox projects, including core game loops, social features, IP development, brand integrations, monetization, and expansion strategies for both events and persistent metaverse experiences
- Represent the project and team to senior leaders, championing the team's needs and requirements while working in close step with the Art Director and art team for a result balanced between design and art
- Work with the design team to create robust design documentation.

- Cross-departmental design representation to produce marketing materials, business development pitches, and company/project long term strategy and plans
- Define and drive design standards for the team.
- Provide strong leadership and career mentorship to support the creative goals and ambitions of the design team members.
- Ensure the project backlog is well-defined and understood.
- Experience as a Creative Director or Design Director with a proven track record in creating and maintaining design direction and bringing it to fruition.
- Strong understanding of both free-to-play and Roblox monetization systems and economy design, validated by commercially successful products.
- Mobile and desktop games experience in all production phases from Concept to Live Operations, having shipped at least two titles as Creative Director or Lead Game Designer with a minimum of 7-10+ years experience.
- Demonstrated experience in building, leading, and mentoring teams.
- Adept at providing the support and space for more junior team members to work with appropriate autonomy while creating a coherent design that aligns with your vision.
- Strong at providing constructive feedback that empowers team members to produce their best work and fosters a productive, collaborative environment.
- Experience communicating a game vision to teams, executives, partners
- Skilled at developing productive relationships with peers and senior leaders, enabling you to work through complex situations to drive projects forward.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication ability, with an emphasis on clearly explaining the reasoning behind decisions and a willingness to listen to feedback, discuss complex inter-departmental issues and make pivots and solutions based on feedback, goals, and new information
