You will be at the spearhead of ‘selling in’ our PC and console games to first party platform holders like Sony, Microsoft and Epic, to ensure they are as enthusiastic about our signed games as we are! You will take ownership of game storefronts like Steam and, come release day, you will be monitoring sales, devising promotional strategies and generally maximising the revenue potential of our games. You will also own revenue forecasts for every games and liaise with - and possibly manage - data analysts and business development managers, while looking out for new revenue streams yourself.

Your Team Mates

The PC and Console department (PCC) is a totally autonomous publishing operation at Kwalee and we are relatively small by design. Everyone working in the PCC dept over 7 functional teams are subject matter experts and you will work closely with all of them, collaborating to get the best results for our signed games.

What Does The Job Actually Involve?

As Head of Sales & Business Development, you will be responsible for ensuring the games you and your team work on are commercially successful. Working on titles from the very beginning with both internal and external teams, you will be charged with selling-in games to platform holders and retailers, creating sales forecasts, preparing games for launch and managing the lifecycle of our games.

  • Managing the full sales lifecycle of our published PC and console games: securing first-party platform holder enthusiasm and financial & marketing support, making deals with third-party partners and generally devising and implementing effective sales strategies and tactics for the continued and prolonged revenue generation of all titles in line with company strategy;

  • Collaborating with numerous internal teams including Data Analysis, Community, Media/Influencer, Creative and Product Marketing in an effort to ensure games are ready to be successfully launched and sustained post-launch with regular updates;

  • Establishing a working framework of systems and processes to plan & deliver effective sales campaigns and manage your team;

  • Implementing continual reviews of sales across a range of platforms, storefronts and channels to ensure maximal profit;

  • Searching for new business opportunities and revenue streams;

  • Independently learning and developing business practices and opportunities in order to improve the success of our games.

Your Hard Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in a relevant role, preferably in the games industry, working across multiple teams;

  • Business mindset and understanding of commercial thinking;

  • Experience in establishing meaningful KPIs and metrics to monitor performance of the sales team’s work and ability to report to senior management in a concise and timely manner;

  • Passion for games and knowledge of the games industry, trends and key players with network of key gaming contacts;

  • Willingness to drive results and deadlines based on targets and KPIs;

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent interpersonal skills;

  • A creative spark and recognition of high-quality marketing assets;

  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Experience of PC/Console game live ops, A/B testing and telemetry;

  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for data.

Your Soft Skills

Kwalee has grown fast in recent years but we’re very much a family of colleagues. We welcome people of all ages, races, colours, beliefs, sexual orientations, genders and circumstances, and all we ask is that you collaborate, work hard, ask questions and have fun with your team and colleagues.

We don’t like egos or arrogance and we love playing games and celebrating success together. If that sounds like you, then please apply.
