Lead Audio Designer – Norway – AAA

"To apply: Ref - 5329900. Work closely with the Audio Director to uphold the project's Sound Design Pillars and lead the sound design efforts. As a Lead Audio Designer, a thorough understanding of the game development pipeline is essential. You'll manage and mentor sound designers, support their career growth, ensure asset quality, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and coordinate with production on planning and scoping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor sound designers, providing guidance and support for their professional development

• Foster and collaborate with producers, directors, leads, and team members to meet the audio needs of projects

• Create and implement high-quality sound effects

• Ensure the project's sound design pillars are consistently met

• Author and implement Sound Effects, Music, and Dialogue using Wwise and Unreal Engine

• Develop and maintain Audio Technical Design documentation

• Work with Audio Programmers on system design, creative runtime effects, and implementation methods

• Conduct field and Foley recording sessions

Qualifications:

• Exceptional creative sound design skills

• Proven leadership experience with direct reports, have held a Lead position

• Over 5 years of experience in AAA game development, including full development cycle experience

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Experienced in location and in-studio sound effects recording

• Expert knowledge of Wwise Audio Middleware and Unreal Engine (UE5 and Blueprints ideally)

• Proficiency in Reaper and Audio plugins

• Passionate, humble, and eager to teach, learn, and enhance the craft for both the project and your team

Bonus Points:

• Familiarity with expanded spatial formats like Ambisonics and Dolby Atmos

• Background in post-production or linear cinematic sound design

• Enthusiasm for the Survival genre
