Lead Build Engineer - Console/PC Studio – North East

A North-East based Games studio are currently looking for a Lead Build Engineer to join their growing team. Founded by established industry experts, the team are made up of award-winning developers, who have come from AAA backgrounds and have a history of releasing a range of high-quality games, some of which have been adored in the games industry.

The position will have you getting involved with aspects such as build/test/tools automation on their current and new titles in the pipeline. You’ll work closely with both code, QA and art teams and be the gatekeeper for anything Build related. We’re looking for someone who loves aspects such as continuous integration, creating dashboards and creating/maintaining reports and graphs. Helping build a picture of the vital data to help improve pipelines.

This position can offer this person a chance to own quite a large area of the project and would suit someone who enjoys working in a small team and in a fast-paced environment. This would suit someone either from a current Build/Automation Engineer or Tools Programming background, who enjoys setting up builds and managing an important part of the development process.

The studio has a long-standing history in creating some of the best games on the market on console platforms. This role will have you working closely with the management team and will get involved with various aspects of development, which includes liaising with other department leads and mentoring, motivating, leading and growing your own team (currently at 2 Build Engineers).

This role can be fully in-house or a hybrid working model if you prefer.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience as either a Build Engineer, Tools Programmer or similar role
  • Past games industry experience
  • Knowledge of Automation and Continuous Integration
  • Experience with C++ or C#
  • Experience with Python, Bash or similar scripting language
  • Team City or Jenkins experience is a bonus
