Lead Programmer

Avalanche Studios Group is looking for a Lead Programmer to join us in Stockholm! With a legacy of groundbreaking titles played by millions of people, we redefine the open world experience for externally published AAA games like Just Cause, Mad Max and Rage 2 to self-published games like Generation Zero, theHunter: Call of the Wild and The Angler.
The positionAs a Lead Programmer you’ll be accountable for a development plan that fits with our product roadmap while leading a group of engineers, ensuring timely, budget-conscious and high quality project delivery. Together with the Product Owner and Leads from other disciplines you’ll ensure we’re delivering according to our roadmap where you would be accountable for the development of the codebase. A great opportunity for someone who likes to have a more strategic and big-picture responsibility while also working hands-on with programming. 
Your duties would include:- Responsible for the code capacity within one of our IPs- Accountable for the code team’s planning and delivery- Responsible for problem-solving with the Leads Team where roadmap or sprint planning may need adjustment- Communication with other studio development teams about both requirements on your team, and from your team on them- Analysis and delegation of bugs to the code team
Primarily looking for someone with experience as a Lead Programmer, but feel free to challenge us! We would consider someone who is looking to step up into their first Lead role if the candidate’s experience and skillset fit well with our current teams skills. 
Ideally, this candidate would have the following qualities:- 5+ years of experience in a programming role- Experience programming in C++ and Python- Interest in general coding skills, or identifies as a “generalist”- Comfortable working with Perforce, and with moving change lists between branches- Very strong problem-solving skills
