About the role
As part of ongoing recruitment to the Games Art, Design & Technology Department at Staffordshire University London, we are looking to appoint a lecturer/senior lecturer in Games Design.
The Computer Games Design degree at Staffordshire University is optimised for students wishing to learn the creative and technical aspects of games production, giving them the necessary skills to develop, produce and publish games titles.

In addition to developing and delivering outstanding teaching and learning you will have the opportunity to contribute towards our ambitious research and enterprise strategy. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with an interest in the development of Serious Games, and non-entertainment applications of Games Technologies.
We are looking for experienced researchers and practitioners who can deliver game design principals within creative environments and who have expertise in Unreal Engine and Unity across areas such as: advanced and animation blueprints, UI and UMG, materials, lighting and post process, engine optimization, packaging, local multiplayer development. An interest in 3D modelling, texturing, level design, 3D animation, rigging, Niagara Systems, would be beneficial.
The department is highly interdisciplinary in nature, and in addition to developing and delivering outstanding teaching and learning the post holder will have the opportunity to contribute towards our ambitious research and enterprise strategy. Areas of interest include: serious games, non-entertainment applications of games technologies, XR (AR, VR, MR).
As a member of academic staff, the post holder will have the opportunity to work on a rapidly expanding campus, with access to a range of sector-leading technologies, including high spec games development workstations and labs, Wacom tablets, Cintiqs’ and virtual reality equipment. Our games academics based in London also have access to all the resources on our Stoke campus, which include motion capture equipment and virtual production studios. Our Stoke campus also hosts the Epic Games Centre for the UK.
Staffordshire University London is a specialist digital campus which has a developing portfolio of courses including: esports, Concept Art, Cyber Security, Computer Science and AI.
