We are looking for an experienced programmer to join our Research & Development team.
Creative Assembly is looking for an experienced R&D Programmer (Tools and Network) to join our team situated in Sofia, Bulgaria, working on a daily basis as part of our in-house team.
In this exciting role, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining in-house tools and working on designing and implementing multiplayer systems and mechanics for games built on Unreal Engine 5. They will work alongside other developers for knowledge sharing, development managers for all things agile and sprint-related, and end-users to ensure that their user experience is as good as it can be.
Key Responsibilities
You will work on an action-adventure game using Unreal Engine 5. In this role, you will communicate with the team and understand the user’s requirement of new features and tools. You will design and implement changes in our tools, engine and data pipelines as well as maintain existing features. You will write clean, well commented and reusable code and adhere to the company’s high-quality programming standards and development processes.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Essential
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Experience with Visual Studio IDE
- Math knowledge (linear algebra, trigonometry)
- Experience in network programming
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Good problem-solving skills
Desirable
- Unreal Engine 4/5 experience
- Multi-threaded / multi-core development experience
- Experience in server-based networking models, data replication and prediction
- Action-adventure game enthusiast or thorough appreciation of the Total War franchise
- Passionate about providing users with software that is effective and enjoyable to use
