Friday Sundae is looking for a freelance / contract Character Rigger to build advanced AAA standard rigs for Animating with Rokoko suit (mocap data) for execution in the Unity game engine.
The candidate should be familiar with Maya - Advanced Skeleton for biped rigs. Non-biped rigs will be hand-animated, using the candidates preferred rigging build plug-in.
The role involves working closely with Animators in a small team to test and export rig assets into the game engine.
The candidate should present a rigging showreel that demonstrates a strong understanding of character rigging principals.Technical SkillsBuilding rigs for both bipedal and quadruped characters, from base model asset to game ready rig.
Good understanding of human body and facial anatomy as it relates to game assets and topology.
Experience using Maya.
Experience building biped rigs for the Unity game engine using Advanced Skeleton
Comfortable working with Blendshapes and painting Skin weights
Knowledge of Python or MEL scripting within Autodesk MayaPersonal skills
Good Communicator, Ability to discuss rigging ideas and processes that will impact the animators via slackNice to have
Advanced Skeleton experience
Knowledge of game development pipelines
Experience with Unity
