Senior Cloud Developer – Mobile Titles – 100% Remote working (From the UK)

A London based Games studio are currently looking for a Cloud Developer to work on the backend services, infrastructure and pipelines for a series of world class narrative experiences on mobile devices. Founded by established industry experts, the team are made up of award-winning developers who have a history of releasing a range of high-quality games, some of which have been adored in the games industry. 

The studio requires this person to work closely with the CTO and a small development team and help build the backend for these series of titles. This Developer will work on the evolution of their live service architecture, so your task will be to work on enhancing its features to be able to cope with a huge demand of players. The team are looking for someone who is passionate about building cutting edge, scalable + secure backend systems that power immersive gaming experiences.

The team use GCP serverless stack and are looking for someone to establish robust Dev/Prod environments and enforce best practices. The game will be exciting and fast paced, so part of your role must ensure that the gameplay process is smooth and lag free.

This role can offer a chance to own quite a large area of the code development and would suit someone who enjoys working in a small team. This would suit a specialist backend programmer who enjoys working in a flat structure and has proven experience of building highly scalable systems.

Requirements

·         Games Industry experience, ideally with mobile games but we’re open to other platforms

·         Experience with Node.js (Javascript/TypeScript) on GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions)

·         Familiarity with Python

·         Experience with Docker and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

·         Experience with integrating backends with Playfab (and Azure CloudScript) or Sentry.io

·         Experience with Unity Engine

·         Past Mentoring experience would be a bonus
