Senior Combat Designer – AAA PC / Console Games – South East UK / Hybrid- Permanent

The successful candidate will contribute to our client’s unique narrative experiences at the highest levels of AAA production on one of their exciting new projects!

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in a commercially shipped 3rd person title while responsible for combat design.
• Experience of designing combat rules, enemy behaviours and skill progression systems.
• Previous experience in scripting and level design.
• Knowledge of 3rd person combat systems and techniques used in modern AAA titles.
• Hands on experience with a previously shipped AAA game.
• A passion for making games driven by gameplay and stories.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Design and implement combat systems and game logic through visual scripting systems.
• Develop compelling combat systems that scale and evolve in complexity through player progression.
• Create and develop combat systems from concept to final quality.
• Use and modify existing blueprints to create new gameplay.
• Craft exciting and rewarding 3rd person combat encounters and experiences.
• Support the project leads and directors while guiding and mentoring other designers across the team.
• Assist in the fostering of a collaborative and communicative team environment.
