The Position
As the Senior Community Developer for Contraband, our upcoming AAA co-op open world action game and new IP published by Microsoft Xbox Game Studios, your role is to identify, grow and engage a diverse, inclusive and passionate community around the game.
You will set up and manage the feedback loop between the Development team and our Community (Player council, Insiders, testers), to provide actionable insights to the team.
When the Community team for Contraband expands, they will report into this role, adding a people management responsibility to mentor and coach the more junior team members.
What you'll do
- Define, plan, and deliver the Community Development strategy in close collaboration with Product, Marketing, Creative, and Development teams.
- Collaborate with our publisher’s community team at Microsoft Xbox, to deliver on their best practices.
- Build and grow tester and early adopter communities that are fun, inclusive, and representative of our player segments.
- Design and manage the Community feedback loops, rolling out a framework for effective communication flow.
- Serve as a community insight leader, contributing expertise to help create the best game for our targeted players.
- Regularly report on community engagement and health, deriving insights to improve our strategies and plans continually.
- Actively engage on our community platforms to provide context for sentiment reporting.
- Plan and execute community activities and content calendars.
- Write community and social copy, and asset requirement brief for the marketing creative team.
Who you are
- A practical and seasoned community strategy specialist with a minimum of 5 years of experience and participation in at least one major game launch.
- Adept at developing gaming communities from the ground up and comfortable with managing communities on various platforms, such as Discord and Steam Forums.
- Proficient in using common social media tools, sentiment reporting, and analytics, with an understanding of current and future market trends.
- An enthusiastic gamer who understands the community and enjoys the thrill of a AAA explosive action experience game.
- A firm believer in collaboration and transparency, able to balance the feedback and needs of various stakeholders.
- Able to juggle internal and external communications effectively, with proven experience working with multilevel stakeholders in multinational matrixed organizations.
- Previous experience at an international games publisher or developer is required.
