Senior Generalist – Art – Games
"To apply: Ref - 5345500. An exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Generalist (Art), aiding in developing a new AAA game. The candidate will be part of a small but experienced team, based in a brand-new office in Australia.
Responsibilities
- Be open to undertaking responsibility for a broad range of art disciplines providing varied, quality assets
- Working with a range of software on large projects, providing input into the direction of the game and helping to guide and support less experienced team members
- Communication and collaboration with Code and Design deploying strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure streamlined, flexible pipelines
Essential requirements
- Candidates must possess a passion for videogames and the ability to demonstrate technical skills having worked in the video games industry for several years
- 5+ years of experience in digital game art development
- Minimum of one shipped game titles(s)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate ideas and document work
- A Deep understanding of four or more of the following game Technology areas: Artificial Intelligence, Animation, Optimisation, Surfacing and Texturing, Traditional Shading and PBR, Traditional Art Skills, Visual Composition, Cinematic Development, Photography, Visual FX, Technical Asset formats, Rigging, Scripting, Asset Pipelines, Material Development, Physics/Collision, UI/UX, 3D Math, Mobile Development, Virtual Reality.
- Must have demonstrated an ability to ship products
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience with Unreal Engine, VR systems, and Mobile platforms
- Experience optimising game art
- Proficiency in Autodesk and Adobe suites (preferably Maya and Substance Painter)
- Scripting Languages (e.g. Python, Mel, Vex, MaxScript)
