Senior IT Support Engineer

Sharkmob is looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you’ll work closely with two experienced colleagues to deliver outstanding technical support to our employees. You’ll be a key point of contact for IT issues, combining deep technical knowledge with a genuine passion for helping people. 

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will play a central role in providing high-level IT support across the organisation, combining strong technical expertise with a genuine passion for helping people. You have solid experience supporting Windows environments, exposure to Mac systems, and a proven background working in a modern professional IT support function. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Provide end-user support and act as the escalation point for our studio in central Malmö. 

  • Provide technical mentorship to team members and stakeholders, helping to elevate their capabilities, and serve as a subject matter expert for end-user training initiatives. 

  • Deliver in-person deskside support when needed, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization. 

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade IT equipment, including networking, AV systems, servers, and build machines. 

  • Support a range of applications and systems such as Microsoft 365, VPN, Mobile devices, SVN, and Video Conferencing tools. 

  • Work with standard IT support and administration tools including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, antivirus solutions, encryption, SSO, identity management, and MDM tools such as Intune. 

  • Monitor and manage the IT ticket queue to ensure service levels and SLAs are consistently achieved. 

  • Ensure onboarding and offboarding processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner. 

  • Manage IT assets throughout their full lifecycle, from acquisition through to disposal. 

  • Gather and translate user needs into practical technical solutions. 

  • Create, maintain, and update documentation using Confluence. 

  • Champion user-centric innovation by proactively identifying improvements that enhance the overall IT experience. 

 

Requirements 

  • A methodical and structured approach to troubleshooting. 

  • Passionate, service-oriented team player with excellent organizational skills. 

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and make effective decisions with limited information. 

  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems. 

  • Good knowledge of Windows Server, administration tools, and core services such as AD, DHCP, DNS, and Microsoft 365. 

  • Basic understanding of internal networking concepts (routing, DNS, DHCP, etc.). 

  • Solid awareness of IT security principles and best practices. 

Bonus Points 

  • Experience with software development tools and environments such as JIRA, Confluence, and Perforce. 

  • An interest in computer games and game development. 

 

Who we are 

Sharkmob was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Malmö, Sweden. The studio develops AAA-quality games for PC and console, using the Unreal Engine to power its ambitions of taking multiplayer games to new heights. 

We are currently working on Exoborne, a Sharkmob original game created in Malmö. Exoborne is a tactical, open-world extraction shooter set in a United States torn apart by apocalyptic forces of nature. Our first game Bloodhunt - a battle royale set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, was released in 2022.
