Senior/Lead Character Artist – AAA Project – Montreal, Canada

OPM’s client are looking for an experienced, talented, and passionate Senior Character Artist who will be responsible for creating top quality models for use in gameplay, cinematics, and even their marketing material.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong experience in developing character models and textures as a Senior Character Artist
• Minimum of 1 shipped AAA game as a Character Artist
• Capability to create believable characters that are full of life and personality
• Capability to create high poly and low poly models as well as textures
• Capability to adapt to, and innovate, new styles and techniques
• Great organic modelling skills (human faces, clothing, believable creatures.)
• Solid hard surface modelling skills (armour, weapons)
• Experience with PBR based shaders
• Superb knowledge of major 3D software packages (Maya, Max, or Modo, and ZBrush, marvellous Designer, Substance Painter.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Producing high quality characters, creatures, and weapons suitable technically and artistically
• Adjusting and creating surface shaders for in-game characters
• Collaborate with Animators to ensure the character can be rigged and animated properly
• Maintain the production and software pipeline and meeting deadlines
• Fix bugs and describing R&D case studies in knowledge base
• Mentoring less experienced peers
• Occasionally supporting the hiring team in recruitment process

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Unreal Engine 4 experience
• Passion for gaming
