Senior Level Designer – AAA – Europe
" Ref - 5323100. Our AAA client is looking for a Senior Level Designer to contribute to an exciting new project. This upcoming action-adventure game, presents a unique opportunity to shape engaging and immersive player experiences.
You will be integral in optimizing level layouts, and utilizing industry-standard tools for level design. In addition to your design responsibilities, you will take on a mentoring role, guiding fellow level designers in adopting best practices related to level design.
Responsibilities
• Design captivating levels with a keen eye for detail, layout, and spatial design
• Craft engaging missions that challenge and delight players
• Utilize the studios proprietary tools to design, build, and script levels
• Collaborate with game designers and programmers to ensure proper utilization of mechanics and systems in levels – from prototyping to implementation
• Work with content teams to ensure that level playability and graphic elements complement each other
• Take full ownership of the player experience within your levels and advocate for it being the best it can be with the rest of the team
• Create and maintain level documentation for the wider team
• Conduct extensive level playtesting, reviews, and iterations to enhance player experience
• Efficiently manage and prioritize tasks and bug lists to ensure a streamlined development process
Requirements
• Possess 5+ years of relevant experience in level design with a robust portfolio showcasing your work
• Exhibit proficiency with 3D level editors and visual scripting for games
• Have hands-on experience with a diverse array of proprietary game engines
• Demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively coordinate with diverse teams for an exceptional level experience
• Proactive and driven mindset, with a passion for pushing boundaries and delivering exceptional experiences
This role is hybrid and the studio has multiple Europe studios to pick from.
Prior experience in these areas would be desirable but the studio really values talent and passion above all else!
