Senior/Principal Technical Animator - Sweden - 765k SEK

"To apply: Ref - 5383800. My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Animator to join there dynamic team to work on a hardcore co-op shooter game on PC. The salary on offer is up to 765k SEK (depending on the candidate) + benefits. This role will be based in Sweden.  

You will play a pivotal part of the team to deliver high-quality, innovative animations that bring characters and environments to life. Collaborate with designers, artists, and engineers to develop advanced animation systems, tools, and workflows. Bridge artistic vision with technical execution to optimise pipelines and enhance player experience. Requires deep knowledge of animation principles, industry-standard software, and game engines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the animation team in creating high-quality animations for characters and gameplay.
• Develop and maintain animation pipelines and tools to enhance production efficiency.
• Collaborate with game designers to ensure animations support gameplay mechanics and narrative.
• Mentor junior animators, providing guidance on techniques, workflows, and best practices.
• Conduct reviews and provide feedback to ensure animations meet project standards.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in animation technology.
• Troubleshoot technical animation issues and optimise performance within the game engine.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Animation, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical animation within the gaming industry.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
• Strong understanding of rigging and skinning techniques.
• Experience with game engines, particularly Unreal Engine.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
• A solid portfolio showcasing a range of animation work and technical expertise.
