As a Software Engineer, your role will be crucial in identifying and addressing workflow issues by designing and developing tools. You will collaborate closely with a variety of internal teams at our pillar studios and at SOE, both in making decisions about tools and working directly on different codebases. You will have the opportunity to explore new ideas and leverage the freedom of the role to shape it in a direction that you believe will bring the most benefits to the business.

Why You:
You are a Software Engineer with experience developing backend tools, workflow/process tools, user interface tools, using any framework, and an understanding of a title’s journey from early development through to release. You have excellent coding skills, and experience using a variety of programming tools. Essentially, you have a passion for video games and an understanding of the ever-changing nature of the video games industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Working within the Technical Services Team on both new and established tools, including localisation pipelines, generative AI tools, UI tools for QA, and others.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and the development studios, identifying workflow problems, developing technical solutions to these, and pushing for their widespread adoption where appropriate.
- Continuously look at the technical capabilities of the business, and actively work to improve these where possible.
- Writing well-structured code, considering the cost of ongoing maintenance.
- Working to a schedule to deliver value on time, keeping stakeholders updated on progress.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- A degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in producing well-structured, coherent, and maintainable code.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to effectively tackle complex and multi-faceted challenges.
- Experience in test automation, process automation, or any similar skillset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Highly organized and deadline-driven, delivering work efficiently within set schedules.
